I served as the executive officer overseeing the seven campuses that are Colorado Mountain College (CMC) and was responsible for several college-wide functions including human resources, procurement/purchasing, marketing, government relations, customized business services and senior programs. CMC is a locally funded, public institution offering certificates, associate degrees, baccalaureate degrees, workforce development programs, GED, continuing education courses, and the largest English as a Second Language program in the state. CMC covers an expansive district of 12,000 square miles in northwestern Colorado ranging from rural ranchland to such world-class resorts as Aspen, Breckenridge, Steamboat Springs and Vail. CNNMoney recognized CMC in 2013 for its rank among the top twenty community colleges in the country for student success as measured by successful completion of a degree program or transfer to an accredited college.

I served as CEO of a comprehensive, state-supported community college offering associate degrees, remedial education, workforce training, and life-long learning programs at its main campus and two instructional sites. o Reversed 10 years of enrollment decline while increasing student retention rates to become the fastest growing institution in the Florida College System. o Secured $2.24 Million congressional appropriation and initiated first Sponsored Projects division for managing national grants and funding; $5 Million state appropriation for the first campus building in 17 years; Doubled gifts to the Foundation and received the largest gift to date ($1 million). o Increased faculty salaries an average of 17% in year one, moving recompense from among the lowest in the state system to the top half during state budget declines, while maintaining more than the state-mandated budget reserve. o Created a private-public partnership to raise $8.6 Million in non-recourse, tax exempt bonds for residence hall construction. o Installed first Student Government Association and significantly expanded student life programs. o Re-engineered course schedule resulting in average student credit load increase from 8 to 11.4 credits and led the creation of over a dozen new curricular offerings. o Updated technological infrastructure and administrative systems; tripled distance learning enrollment.
